
ISLAMABAD, 11 AUG (DNA) — Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting to review preparations for the 14th South Asian Games, which Pakistan will host in March 2027.
DPM/FM directed the establishment of subcommittees tasked with overseeing key aspects of the Games, including financing, infrastructure development and upgradation, athletes’ training and preparation, and logistical arrangements. He stressed the importance of timely planning and close coordination among all stakeholders to ensure that Pakistan hosts the Games to the highest standards.
He emphasized that the 14th South Asian Games provide Pakistan with an important opportunity to showcase its sporting talent, hospitality and organizational capacity, while conveying to the world a message of peace, friendship, goodwill and harmony.
The meeting was attended by SAPM Tariq Bajwa, President of the Pakistan Olympic Association Mr. Arif Saeed, Secretary IPC, Director General Pakistan Sports Board, officials of the Ministry of Finance, and representatives of the Governments of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. — DNA
