DC Abbottabad urges teachers to be role models of integrity, discipline

ABBOTTABAD, Jan 05 (APP/DNA): Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad, Sarmad Saleem Akram on Monday said the role of teachers is not limited to imparting academic knowledge alone, but also includes character building, moral training, and grooming students into responsible citizens.
He expressed these views while addressing a special ceremony organized in honor of newly appointed teachers in Abbottabad.


He stated that a strong and developed society is built on a disciplined, ethical, and responsible generation, and teachers hold a central position in shaping such a future.


The deputy commissioner emphasized that teachers are the nation’s role models and students learn not only from their lessons but also from their conduct, speech, and personality. He urged teachers to demonstrate integrity, discipline, and a strong sense of responsibility in their professional lives.


He further remarked that government service is a national trust which must be carried out with sincerity and dedication. The deputy commissioner said the provincial government has declared education a top priority and is taking concrete steps to ensure the welfare, dignity, and professional training of teachers to improve educational standards.


During the ceremony, newly appointed teachers were welcomed, while certificates and cash prizes were distributed among students who demonstrated outstanding academic performance to encourage them toward further excellence.


The event was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Azka Fatima, District Education Officers (Male and Female), senior education department officials, school heads, teachers, parents, and a large number of students, who reaffirmed their commitment to promoting education in the district.
