DC Attock ensures full security for Muharram religious gatherings

Attock, JUN 18 /DNA/ – An important meeting of the District Peace Committee and Interfaith Harmony Committee regarding Muharram was held at the DC Office Attock, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Rao Atif Raza. The meeting was attended by members of the Peace Committee including Pir Saadat Ali Shah, Maulana Mahmood-ul-Hassan Toheedi, Maulana Sher Zaman, Allama Arif Hussain Wahidi, Major (R) Azam Ghaiba, Aftab Hussain Haidari, minority and social leaders, scholars from all schools of thought, and various other officials.

Speaking at the meeting, participants highlighted that Muharram imparts lessons of unity, patience, and steadfastness. The martyrdom of Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions in the fields of Karbala teaches us to stand firm against falsehood. They emphasized the need to follow the timeless message of the sacrifices made by the martyrs of Karbala and to lead our lives in accordance with the teachings of Allah, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the Ahl al-Bayt, and the Companions (RA), to attain success in this life and the hereafter.

The blessed month of Muharram inspires values of sacrifice and selflessness. We must emulate the lives of those beloved to Allah to achieve salvation on the Day of Judgment.

During the session, all matters related to Muharram arrangements were thoroughly discussed. Participants actively shared their opinions and proposed various suggestions.

Addressing the meeting, DC Rao Atif Raza stated that full municipal services would be provided for all religious gatherings during this sacred month. He appealed to the public to strictly follow the code of conduct issued by the Government of Punjab when attending such events. Control rooms will be set up at both district and tehsil levels to ensure comprehensive monitoring of all religious activities.

He added that foolproof security arrangements would be implemented during Muharram, and those spreading sectarian hatred would be dealt with strictly under a zero-tolerance policy. District police are maintaining full coordination with religious event organisers.

Social media will be closely monitored, and any objectionable content will not be permitted on any media channel. Members of the Peace Committee assured their full cooperation with the administration.

The meeting concluded with a special prayer for the peace and security of the country, led by Maulana Mahmood-ul-Hassan Toheedi.
