SUKKUR, Nov 02 (DNA):Political and social leaders, workers affiliated with Pakistan Peoples Party and prominent citizens from Taluka Kingri and Gambat of District Khairpur have made a strong appeal to Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to award the provincial assembly ticket to senior party leader, former Member Sindh Assembly and Sajjada Nasheen Dargah Drib Mehar Shah, Renowned Lawyer, Advocate Pir Syed Muhammad Bachal Shah Jilani.
In a Joint Statement on Monday, the leaders said that Pir Syed Bachal Shah Jilani is one of the most senior, loyal and honest faces of the party in northern Sindh, whose entire politics revolves around public service, dedication and the trust of the people.
They said that with the cooperation of the Sindh Government, Pir Syed Bachal Shah initiated 50 to 60 development schemes in Kingri and Gambat talukas, which is being described as a record in the recent history of the constituency. From road infrastructure, education and health facilities to drainage, water supply and village link roads, his efforts have directly improved the living standard of thousands of families.
Leaders and workers expressed concern that despite enjoying the complete confidence of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah and Adi Faryal Talpur, Pir Bachal Shah has not yet been made part of the provincial cabinet, even though most development initiatives in the area were launched with his personal efforts and follow up.
As Sajjada Nasheen of the historic Dargah Drib Mehar Shah, Pir Syed Bachal Shah Jilani enjoys deep respect across all walks of life. His followers and devotees are spread across Sindh, Punjab and Balochistan. Members of the legal fraternity, political workers and his large circle of followers consider him a symbol of honesty, humility and accessible leadership, a leader who is present among his people in their happiness and sorrow.
The people further demanded that Pir Bachal Shah Jilani be appointed as Advisor to the Chief Minister Sindh so that the pace of development in District Khairpur could be further accelerated.
They stated that in the last general elections Pir Bachal Shah had secured more than 54,000 votes and enjoyed clear public mandate, but he was deprived of victory due to alleged irregularities in Form 47.
The speakers said that Pir Bachal Shah’s decades long loyalty to Pakistan Peoples Party, his spotless character, and his unwavering commitment to the ideology of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto have earned him a special place in the hearts of the people.
They expressed full confidence that if given the opportunity as MPA and part of the Sindh Government, Pir Syed Muhammad Bachal Shah Jilani will continue to serve the people of Khairpur with the same honesty, dedication and spirit of public service.
