ISLAMABAD, OCT 16 (DNA) — The provincial election commissioner of Punjab on Sunday barred the officers of Special Branch from entering polling stations in six districts of the province.
As per the official sources, the officers were barred after ECP received complaints of their entry into the polling stations without seeking permission. A notification was also issued in this regard and a copy of which had been delivered to the additional inspector general of Special Branch.
The officers were barred from entering polling stations under Section 187 of the Election Act 2017, the notification said. =DNA
