ISLAMABAD, DEC 10 (DNA) — Strongly refuting reports of the release of schedule for the general elections to be held on February 8, 2024, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Sunday termed the schedule doing rounds on social media ‘baseless’.
The spokesperson clarified that the schedule circulating on social media is fraudulent. The Election Commission spokesperson noted that false information about the election is consistently appearing in both print and electronic media.
He further said it was unfortunate that both print and electronic media in recent days had indulged in spreading false information about the polls. “The statement published on page 10 of Urdu daily Jang is ‘misleading’,” he said, adding, “Truth of the matter is that no consultation has been done yet on the applications filed in the commission.”
The spokesman made it clear that no statement should be attributed to the election commission barring those which he had issued. — DNA
