English Faculty Development Program concludes at NAHE

ISLAMABAD, 11 Feb: /DNA/ – The two-day English Faculty Development Programme successfully marking a significant step toward enhancing English language teaching methodologies in Pakistan. The programme was jointly organized by the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE), HEC and the Regional English Language Office (RELO), U.S. Embassy, focusing on key themes including empowering educators through technology, digital tools in English language teaching, integrating diverse perspectives into learning, and student-centered learning design for deepening student efficacy. Dr.Amanda Adams was the resource person for the workshop.

Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed graced the closing ceremony as chief guest, acknowledging the collaborative efforts of NAHE and RELO in strengthening faculty capacity. He commended the dedication and visionary leadership of NAHE Team in spearheading faculty development initiatives and expressed gratitude for continuous support of RELO in enhancing teaching methodologies in Pakistan. He emphasized the pivotal role of faculty development in elevating the standard of higher education, reaffirming unwavering commitment of HEC to investing in professional growth opportunities for educators across the country. NAHE team comprised Mr. Sulaiman Ahmad, Ms. Sadia Bukhari, Mr. Tahir Mehmood and Syed Shahzad Hussain.

Managing Director of NAHE, Ms. Noor Amna Malik highlighted the transformative impact of faculty development initiatives in fostering innovative and effective teaching strategies. She lauded the Chairman HEC’s untiring support in promoting excellence in higher education and appreciated his commitment to professional development programs. She further underscored the dedication of NAHE team to equipping educators with cutting-edge andragogical skills and digital tools, ensuring they remain at the forefront of modern teaching methodologies.

Dr. Amanda Adams, the resource person from RELO, U.S. Embassy, shared her insights and experiences as an educator with over 25 years of expertise in teacher training, having worked with a diverse range of students in Pakistan and Uganda. She is a Google-certified trainer and a Canvas-certified trainer, bringing valuable expertise to the program. She praised the cohort selection and expressed admiration for steadfast commitment of HEC to faculty development. She acknowledgeded the efforts of institution in shaping a progressive educational landscape in Pakistan.

The programme provided a platform for faculty members to explore modern teaching methodologies, enhancing their ability to integrate digital technology into English language education. The closing ceremony concluded with certificate distribution and a reaffirmation of continued collaboration between NAHE and RELO for future capacity-building programs, reinforcing their shared commitment to advancing teaching excellence in Pakistan.
