ISLAMABAD: JUNE 26 (DNA): Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Mr. Khalid Hussain Magsi, met with the Vice Chancellor of the University of Loralai, Professor Dr. Ihsanullah Kakar, today. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the promotion of scientific education, research, and modern technologies. The Federal Minister assured his full support and cooperation for the development of scientific disciplines at the university.
The Federal Minister stated that the government will extend all possible support for the establishment of modern setups related to Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity at the University of Loralai. He further said that, with the support of the Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR), modern laboratories will be established for nursing and allied sciences programs, and every possible assistance will be provided for the successful implementation of these setups. According to Federal Minister Khalid Hussain Magsi, the promotion of scientific education will pave new paths for progress in regions like Balochistan.
During the meeting, the Vice Chancellor briefed the Minister that the University of Loralai has successfully planted olive trees over 200 acres of land. He added that this initiative is not only vital for environmental protection but also serves as a sustainable solution to the critical issue of water scarcity. Appreciating this effort, Khalid Hussain Magsi said that the olive plantation model can be adopted at the national level as an effective strategy.
The Federal Minister also assured complete cooperation in water conservation efforts through collaboration with the Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR). He emphasized that environmental protection and scientific advancement are among the government’s foremost priorities. Khalid Hussain Magsi expressed hope that the partnership between the Ministry of Science and Technology and the University of Loralai will open new doors for higher education, research, and innovation in Balochistan.
