ATTOCK, NOV 17 /DNA/ – In accordance with the directives of the Government of Punjab, a seminar was held today, 17 November 2025, at Government Graduate College Attock. In this seminar, students were informed about the mental and physical harms caused by drug abuse, and experts also delivered informative talks on its prevention.

The event was admirably conducted by Professor Dr. Toqeer Ahmed. The program began with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, a privilege performed by Mufti Abu Bakar. Mr. Umar addressed the audience and delivered an excellent and well-reasoned talk on the condemnation of drugs in the light of the Qur’an and Sunnah. Professor Faiz Hussain Malik spoke briefly yet comprehensively about the psychological causes of drug addiction and its remedies, drawing from his extensive experience. Professor Syed Hub Ali Naqvi discussed the role of educational institutions and teachers in solving social problems, and he urged students to not only participate in such events but also to take genuine interest and demonstrate responsibility as educated citizens.

The chief guest of the event was Dr. Basma Shakeel Kayani. She delivered a measured and scholarly talk on mental health, the negative effects of drug abuse on it, the possible causes of addiction, and the role society must play in its prevention—her address was well appreciated by the audience.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Vice Principal Professor Azhar Mehmood expressed satisfaction that the campus and students of Government Graduate College Attock are free from the curse of drugs.
