FC College University to host 5th Int’l Conference of PNQAHE

ISLAMABAD, FEB 7 /DNA/ – The Pakistan Network of Quality Assurance in Higher Education (PNQAHE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Forman Christian College University (FCCU) here at the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Secretariat on Friday.

According to MoU, FCCU will host the 5th International Conference and Annual General Meeting of PNQAHE, in collaboration with HEC and Khyber Medical University.

Serving as a platform to connect over 250 universities across Pakistan, PNQAHE has more than 25 international experts actively involved in its efforts, and is a regional partner of International Network of Quality Assurance Agencies of Higher Education since 2019.

Addressing the ceremony, Chairman HEC Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed said, “HEC believes that our education system should be at par with the world. This is the reason we are always enthusiastic to facilitate any effort that can assure quality education.”  Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed appreciated the efforts of KMU team Dr. Zia-ul-Haq and Dr. Asiyah Bukhari for their efforts and idea to launch this Quality Network which is now the chapter of INQAAHE as Pakistan .He also appreciated PNQAHE’s choice of FCCU as the host as it is one of the best institutions, not only because of its education but also for its facilities, infrastructure and architecture. Prof. Dr Mukhtar encouraged the efforts and committed strong support of Higher Education Commission.

The President of PNQAHE Dr. Zia-ul-Haq gave an overview of Network’s journey so far and introduced the executive body. “The first International Conference was held in 2017 in which the key stakeholders assessed the need for a platform that works with the universities for quality assurance aligned with the vision of Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), HEC. PNQAHE’s international conferences serves as that platform and bring the stakeholders together to reflect on the present and plan for the future of higher education,” he said.

Rector FCCU Dr. Jonathan S. Addleton said that the sub-themes of PNQAHE’s upcoming conference are particularly intriguing and reflect the quality assurance standards around the globe. It will also be a great opportunity for bringing together the stakeholders.

Scheduled from April 14 to 16, the conference will be themed around “Stakeholder Engagement in Quality Assurance – Shaping Higher Education with Inputs from all Relevant Voices.” The sub-themes will include Models of Stakeholders Engagement, Role of Students in Quality Assurance, Industry and Employer Collaboration in Higher Education, Government, Regulatory Bodies and Professional Associations, and Community Engagement and Social Responsibility.

The ceremony was attended by Member IT/Acting Executive Director HEC, Dr. Jamil Ahme; Rector of PAF-IAST, Dr. Muhammad Mujahid; Team of QAA, Mr. Muhammad Raza, Mr. Wajid Saleem, Dr. Pir Qasim Shah; Consultant QA, NUMS, Mr. Muhammad Ismail; Director Riphah, Dr. Fawad Sadiq and Dr. Iftikhar, Iqra University.
