LAHORE, DEC 30 (APP/DNA): The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested three proclaimed offenders (POs) involved in migrant smuggling, who had allegedly swindled citizens of over Rs 2.2 million.
An FIA spokesperson said on Tuesday that the accused were identified as Mursal Butt, Shakeel Amjad and Fahad Iqbal, who were apprehended during raid operations conducted in different areas of Lahore.
The suspects had been wanted by FIA Lahore in multiple cases since 2023.
The accused had deceived citizens by offering fake job opportunities in Portugal and Dubai, collected
huge sums of money, failed to send them abroad and later went into hiding.
The spokesperson said the suspects have been taken into custody and investigations have been initiated to ascertain further facts and identify their accomplices.
