WASHINGTON D.C: APR 22 (DNA):Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, held a meeting with H.E Mohamed Nasheed, Secretary General of the Climate Vulnerable Forum & Vulnerable 20 (CVF-V20).
Appreciated the visit of the team of CVF Secretariat to Pakistan and joint development of the Climate Prosperity Plan (CPP) to explore financing possibilities for specific project proposals. Informed that Pakistan and World Bank have recently agreed on a decade-long Country Partnership Framework (CPF).
Four out of six expected outcomes of CPF addressed the two existential challenges faced by Pakistan i.e. climate and population.
Also briefed on a new arrangement under the IMF’s Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF). Expressed the resolve to jointly work to finalize the projects under the CPP and develop a phased approach for project financing.
