ISLAMABAD, JAN 22 /DNA/: At least five people sustained critical burn injuries when a gas leak triggered an explosion that damaged a house in Shams Colony on Thursday morning.
According to emergency officials, the blast occurred within the jurisdiction of the Shams Colony police station, causing the walls and roof of the house to collapse, private news channel reported.
Capital Emergency Service officials said the injured included one man, two women and two children.
Two of the injured suffered minor injuries, while three were shifted to a hospital for medical treatment, rescue sources added.
Emergency teams responded swiftly to the scene and secured the affected area.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident and advised residents to take precautions to prevent gas leakages.
