The toss for the T20 World Cup 2024 match between Ireland and the United States has been delayed due to wet outfield at the Central Broward Park in Lauderhill, Florida on Friday.
The ground staff are still working on drying the outfield, which currently has many wet patches. There was a pitch inspection at 7:30PM (PST) and 8:30 PM (PST) but the match officials couldn’t start the game due to a wet outfield.
The next inspection will now take place at 9:30PM (PST) and then, we will have an update.
We will start losing overs after 9:00PM (PST). At the latest, a five-over match can begin at 11:16PM (PST), as per the ICC.
If the match is washed out, Ireland, Canada and Pakistan will be eliminated from the T20 World Cup 2024 before the Super 8 stage. Meanwhile, the USA will qualify for the next round alongside India, who have already booked their spot in the Super 8.
