ISLAMABAD, MAY 16 /DNA/ – Atif Ikram Sheikh, President FPCCI, will lead a high-powered business delegation to the United States in August 2026. Under his leadership, the Pakistan–USA Business Council has been formally established to institutionalize and expand bilateral trade, investment, and private-sector cooperation between Pakistan and the United States.
The first meeting of the Pakistan–USA Business Council of FPCCI was held at the FPCCI President Office in Islamabad. The meeting was convened by Mr. Malik Sohail Hussain, Chairman Pakistan–USA Business Council.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the U.S. Embassy Islamabad, including Mr. Jay Kim and Mr. Ayan Ali Khan from the Economic and Trade Section. FPCCI Vice President Mr. Tariq Khan Jadoon, Director Pakistan–USA Business Council Mr. Karim Aziz Malik, Ms. Samina Fazil, Mr. Jabbar Raheem, Syed Hasnain Kazmi, Mr. Sikandar Khan, along with other members of the Council, were also present.
In his welcome address, Mr. Malik Sohail Hussain stated that the establishment of the Council marks an important step towards strengthening structured economic engagement between Pakistan and the United States. He appreciated the leadership of Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh for actively representing Pakistan’s business community across key international platforms including ECO, SAARC, CACCI, and SCO.
He stated that the United States remains one of Pakistan’s most important trading partners and a key source of investment, innovation, and technology transfer, while Pakistan offers significant opportunities in IT, textiles, agriculture, energy, healthcare, manufacturing, minerals, and entrepreneurship.
“The Pakistan–USA Business Council is being developed as a structured institutional platform to deepen trade linkages, facilitate investment flows, and enable sustained private-sector engagement between both countries,” Mr. Malik Sohail Hussain said.
Mr Tariq Jadoon Vice President and Mr Karim Aziz Malik Chairman, Malik Sohail Hussain Chairman PK USA Business Council with Mr.Jay Kim and Ayan Ali Khan distributed membership certificates to Counsil members and presented crest and flower bouquet to the USA Embassy guests.
Mr. Karim Aziz Malik Chairman President Secretariat was also co-opted Board of Directors of the Council.
During the meeting, participants discussed expansion of trade and investment opportunities, exchange of business delegations, and the organization of joint networking initiatives in Pakistan and the United States. The Council underscored the need for structured B2B engagement and policy facilitation to enhance commercial cooperation.
FPCCI will also organize a high-powered business delegation to the United States in August 2026. In continuation of these initiatives, the Pakistan–USA Business Council will collaborate with Mr. Farooq Mirza, President 4th Pillar, New York, to commemorate Marka-e-Haq in New York alongside business networking engagements.
