“Ali Amin Gandapur is the Gorbachev of PTI, says JUI-F spokesperson

Peshawar: The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Friday strongly condemned Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, accusing him of slandering Maulana Fazlur Rehman despite clear instructions from PTI founder Imran Khan to avoid such attacks.

JUI spokesperson Aslam Ghauri alleged that Gandapur is deliberately creating rifts between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and JUI-F, warning that such divisions would ultimately benefit the government and undemocratic forces.

“Ali Amin Gandapur is the Gorbachev of PTI, and the real threat to the party comes from internal conspiracies, not external ones,” Ghauri remarked, suggesting that certain elements within PTI sabotage opposition unity whenever an alliance is close to forming.

He further claimed that Gandapur fears a strong opposition alliance, which could challenge his government. “The PTI leadership must keep an eye on internal conspirators instead of allowing them to damage crucial political relationships,” he added.

JUI-F also took offense at Gandapur’s remarks about religious scholars, calling them a reflection of his low mentality. “The scholars are the heirs of the prophets, and any insult against them will not be tolerated,” the JUI spokesperson warned.

The party has demanded clarity from PTI regarding Gandapur’s remarks, questioning whether his statements reflect official party policy. The tensions come at a time when opposition parties are working to form a grand alliance, with JUI-F asserting that this unity should not be mistaken for weakness.
