Germany gear up for Euro 2024 under new coach Nagelsmann

Berlin, JUN 16: Following the appointment of new head coach Julian Nagelsmann in September, the German team is eager for glory in the forthcoming European Championship 2024.

Germany will be playing its first match against Scotland on Friday (June 14) at the Allianz Arena Football Stadium.

“I have the feeling that we can win. And most of the time, my intuition is not too bad,” says Julian Nagelsmann, the Germany coach, who publicly displays great confidence ahead of the start of Euro 2024.

Moreover, under Nagelsmann, the team was able to gain success against opponents like France and Netherlands in March.

Former Bayern Munich coach, Nagelsmann, replaced former coach of the Germany Hansi Flick in September.

Germany team is a mixture of players like captain İlkay Gündoğan and goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, who has recovered from an injury. Young talents Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz are expected to lead the attack, with Musiala being impressive for Bayern Munich and Wirtz has scored 11 goals for Bayer Leverkusen.

Since winning the World Cup in Brazil back in 2014, the Germans were ousted in the group stages of the last two World Cups (2018 and 2022), and in the previous Euro of 2021, where England defeated Germany in round 16.

Germany is in Group A with Scotland, Hungary, and Switzerland. Fans are hopeful that the team win the Euro cup of 2024 for the second time after 1996. The tournament kicks off on Friday, with Germany playing the inaugural match of the tournament.
