ISLAMABAD, JUN 11 (APP/DNA):Federal Minister for Investment Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh stated on Wednesday that the government has provided substantial relief to the general public and salaried class in the 2025-26 budget, following a surge in Federal Board of Revenue collections and invited opposition parties to share their suggestions.

Talking to a local news channel, Qaiser Sheikh emphasized the government’s commitment to providing relief to the salaried class.

He mentioned that the government has taken various measures to reduce the tax burden on salaried individuals, providing them with much-needed relief.

The minister expressed hope that these measures will improve the standard of living for salaried individuals and contribute to the overall economic well-being of the country.

Qaiser Sheikh also reported a significant increase in Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) collections, attributing this growth to the government’s efforts to broaden the tax base and improve tax compliance.

Highlighting the progress made by the Federal Board of Revenue, Qaiser Sheikh noted that FBR revenue has witnessed a notable increase of 19%.

He attributed this growth to the government’s sustained efforts to enhance tax collection mechanisms and reduce tax evasion.

According to the minister, this substantial growth in revenue collection will further enable the government to allocate resources towards critical sectors, including education, healthcare, and infrastructure development, thereby fostering socio-economic progress in the country.

He stated that the rise in FBR revenue will also enable the government to fund vital public services and infrastructure projects, ultimately benefiting the people and driving economic growth.

This increase in revenue, he added, has also allowed the government to provide relief to the salaried class and other segments of society through the budget.

Responding to a query, he also stated that the government has implemented policies to create a favourable investment environment, which has led to a significant increase in investment inflows.

According to Qaiser Sheikh, these investments will play a crucial role in stimulating economic growth and creating new opportunities for the people.

Responding to another question, Qaiser Sheikh emphasized that the government remains open to suggestions from the opposition, encouraging them to come forward with their ideas.
