ISLAMABAD, Jul 9 (APP):Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar on Wednesday said that the government was committed to providing full support for the promotion of hockey at both national and international levels.
The deputy prime minister said this while chairing a meeting here to review the current state of hockey in Pakistan, according to a foreign ministry’s press release.
The meeting was attended by the Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC), Minister for Information, Secretary IPC, DG Pakistan Sports Board, President of Pakistan Hockey Federation, and senior officials from the ministries of Foreign Affairs and Overseas Pakistanis.
Recognizing hockey as the national sport, the committee stressed the need to strengthen institutional support, sustained development, and renewed focus at all levels.
