ISLAMABAD, May 04: Grand Mufti of Palestine, Sheikh Muhammad Ahmad Hussein, and Chief Justice of Palestine, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Habbash, on Monday arrived in Pakistan on a five-day visit to participate in the Sixth International Paigham-e-Islam Conference.
Upon their arrival at Islamabad International Airport, they were received by Chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Counci, Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, along with senior officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, the Government of Pakistan, and Ambassador of Palestine to Pakistan, Dr. Zuhair Mohammad Hamdallah Zaid.
The visiting dignitaries will participate in the conference scheduled to be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad, which is expected to bring together prominent religious scholars and leaders from across the Muslim world.
Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Muhammad Ahmad Hussein expressed his happiness on visiting Pakistan, stating that the bond between the people of Palestine and Pakistan is everlasting.
He said the people of Palestine deeply value Pakistan’s consistent support, adding that the backing of Pakistan’s government, armed forces, and citizens for the Palestinian cause would never be forgotten.
The Grand Mufti also expressed gratitude to Pakistan’s leadership, including the President, Prime Minister, and Field Marshal, for their firm stance in support of Palestine.
Meanwhile, Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi said the upcoming conference would serve as a significant platform reflecting the collective stance of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and the broader Muslim world on key issues.
During their stay, the Grand Mufti is also scheduled to meet Pakistan’s top leadership, including the President, Prime Minister, Foreign Minister, and other senior government officials.
The visit underscores the strong and enduring ties between Pakistan and Palestine, as well as their shared commitment to promoting unity and solidarity within the Muslim Ummah.
