ISLAMABAD: China’s Guangdong hockey team has arrived in Pakistan for a series of matches against departmental and domestic sides in different cities, Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) said.
PHF officials and representatives welcomed the visiting players and team officials, presenting them with flower garlands and bouquets as part of a traditional reception.
The PHF said that the tour is aimed at promoting international hockey and strengthening sporting ties between Pakistan and China
The visiting team is scheduled to play against Pakistani departmental and domestic teams, giving local players an opportunity to test themselves against international opposition.
The PHF said the tour would help Pakistani players improve their skills and provide a platform for greater sporting exchange between the two countries.
The federation added that the visit was expected to strengthen friendship and cooperation between Pakistan and China through sport.\
On Tuesday (tomorrow) Guangdong club will take on Mari Energies Rawalpindi. It will be followed by their match against Army at Islamabad on Wednesday before they will be pitted against Navy on October 23 at Islamabad.
Similarly they will take on Customs on October 25bat Lahore and it will be followed by their show against Rangers at Narowal on October 26.
On October 28 Guangdong team will meet Pakistan Under-21 at Gojra and the following day the visitors will take on Police at Lahore. On October 30 the club will return home.
