ISLAMABAD, JUN 22 (DNA) — Secretary for Religious Affairs, Dr. Syed Ata ur Rehman, Sunday expressed gratitude to Pakistani pilgrims for their successful Hajj this year, acknowledging their adherence to Saudi regulations and reaffirmed the government’s dedication to enhancing the Hajj process through early preparations, stricter selection criteria and improved coordination among all involved parties.
In a recent radio program, he recognized the efforts of the welfare staff in Makkah during Hajj, highlighting their dedication and hard work. He also emphasized the crucial need for timely training and clear instructions for ‘Nazimeen’ (group leaders) to ensure they are fully equipped and prepared to assist and guide pilgrims effectively throughout the journey.
Dr. Ata ur Rehman also revealed that the government will implement more thorough and specialized selection processes for welfare and health staff in the future. He pointed out that support staff should be fully knowledgeable about Mina’ s geography and future assessments will incorporate this criterion to boost the quality of assistance provided to pilgrims.
He expressed pride and inspiration for the entire team, highlighting the positive feedback from various sources about the exceptional Hajj arrangements. He further highlighted that the government is upgrading pilgrim accommodations, with a special focus on the elderly, by offering ground-floor rooms and enhancing the facilities in Mina and Arafat camps.
He also commended the pilgrims for their outstanding cooperation throughout this year’s Hajj, noting that their collective commitment and discipline played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and successful execution of the pilgrimage. Their patience and adherence to guidelines made a significant difference in maintaining order and safety, contributing to the overall success of the event, he added.—DNA
