SARGODHA, JUN 12 (APP/DNA):The health experts on Thursday said that extreme heat poses a serious risk not only to the general public but especially to heart patients.
Talking to APP on Thursday, Medical Specialist of Dr Faisal Masood Teaching Hospital Dr Saifullah Goraya stressed the importance of staying hydrated and taking extra precautions during a heatwave.
He particularly stressed that heart patients are at even greater risk during such conditions.
“The blazing sun is extremely dangerous for individuals with heart conditions. Fluctuations in blood pressure due to heat can potentially lead to heart attacks,” he warned.
Dr Goraya urged heart patients to drink plenty of water and consult their cardiologists regularly during this period.
He advised avoiding unnecessary physical activities in the sun and staying in cool environments as much as possible.
“Even regular consumption of water can prevent a range of heat-related complications,” he advised.
