ISLAMABAD, AUG 14 /DNA/ – The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan celebrated the Independence Day while reaffirming its commitment to the uplift of the higher education sector in Pakistan.
HEC organised a flag-hoisting ceremony to mark the Independence Day. Led by Chairman HEC Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar and Executive Director HEC Dr. Zia Ul Haq, all the senior and junior staffers of HEC assembled to celebrate the Independence Day, commemorate the sacrifices of the ancestors, and renew their resolve to keep persistently working for the development of higher education in Pakistan.
In his congratulatory address, the Chairman HEC paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Muhammad Iqbal, and other heroes of the freedom movement. Paying homage to the forefathers of the nation who rendered inestimable sacrifices for the homeland, he said that preserving freedom requires unity, untiring hard work, resilience, and a national spirit. He reiterated HEC’s resolve to continue facilitating the higher education institutions, protecting the rights of students, and playing its role in leading the country towards a knowledge-based economy.
The Chairman HEC underlined that Pakistan is blessed with ample resources and a vibrant youth population. The youth of Pakistan have immense potential to fully exploit these resources through knowledge, skills, and commitment, he emphasised.
“HEC will leave no stone unturned to strengthen the higher education institutions and empower the youth,” the Chairman emphasised.
