ISLAMABAD/QUETTA, JUN 2 /DNA/ – Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan conducted comprehensive training sessions for Pakistan Qualification Register (PQR) focal persons in Quetta.
University representatives from across Balochistan attended the event to strengthen the qualification data used in verification processes.
The training focused on enhancing the accuracy and transparency of academic qualification data through the PQR, a centralized HEC database that hosts degree programmes from recognized institutions and ensures alignment with the National Qualifications Framework. Participants gained hands-on experience with essential processes, including data compilation procedures and documentation requirements for NOCs.
The focal persons were asked to record all programme approvals, including academic council minutes and relevant notifications. The session emphasized the critical role of focal persons as liaisons between universities and HEC. They are responsible for addressing common verification challenges, such as inconsistent programme naming and missing documentation, while providing practical solutions for effective qualification data management. Universities were directed to complete the data cleansing of all postgraduate programs and to maintain regular communication with the HEC.
The training reinforced HEC’s commitment to building a transparent and accountable higher education system that meets international standards.
