ISLAMABAD/KARACHI, OCT 22: /DNA/ – The Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan successfully conducted a two-day capacity-building and a follow-up deliberative session on Higher Education Statistics (HES) for the Fiscal Years 2023–24 and 2024–25 at HEC Regional Centre. Over 45 focal persons of higher education institutions (HEIs) in Sindh took part in the session. Â
Organised by HEC Higher Education Data Repository (HEDR) Division, the activity aimed to build the capacity of focal persons of higher education institutions (HEIs) and their affiliated colleges on the HES data submission while providing them a comprehensive support in ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely reporting.
During the course of the training, the first day session focused on enhancing the understanding of HES templates, validation mechanisms, and online submission procedures. The HEDR team provided hands-on training and demonstrations, guiding the participants through data entry processes, reporting standards, and error rectification techniques. The session received encouraging participation and appreciation from focal persons for its practical approach and clarity. On the second day, a follow-up deliberative session was held for Sindh HEIs that had not yet submitted their data. The HEDR team members offered one-on-one technical assistance, addressing institution-specific challenges and providing on-spot troubleshooting to facilitate data completion. The session enabled HEIs to identify pending areas, clarify data requirements, and make progress toward timely submission.
The activity significantly contributed to improving the data reporting capacity of HEIs and their affiliated colleges, furthering HEDR’s commitment to strengthening the Higher Education Statistics framework across the country.
