ICT Police launch grand combing operations across capital, dozens held for verification

ISLAMABAD, Apr 02 Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police launched large-scale grand combing and search operations against criminal elements and illegal residents across various areas of the federal capital.

An official told APP on Thursday that the operations were conducted in the jurisdictions of Tarnol, Bhara Kahu, Khanna, Karachi Company, Sabzi Mandi, and Koral police stations under the supervision of zonal SPs.

He said lady police officials also participated in the search operations to ensure effective checking and facilitation.

During the operations, a total of 767 individuals and 333 households were checked, while 149 shops and 32 hotels were also inspected.

The official said 241 motorcycles and 80 vehicles were examined during the drive.

He said 64 suspicious individuals and 36 motorcycles were shifted to relevant police stations for further verification.

He said the IGP Islamabad had issued special directives to conduct grand search operations across the district to eliminate crime and ensure the safety of citizens.

The official urged citizens to cooperate with police during checking and immediately report any suspicious activity.
