IFA cracks down on poor sanitation in city hotels

ISLAMABAD, Jul 23 (DNA):The Islamabad Food Authority (IFA) on Tuesday took a strict action against the hotels of the Federal Capital and sealed a kitchen of a famous hotel for violating sanitation standards.

Talking to APP, Deputy Director Operations (DDO) of IFA, Dr Tahira Saddique said that during the inspection, the food safety teams (FSTs) found the hotel’s kitchen in poor sanitary condition. The team discovered fungus-tainted meat and rotten vegetables being used for food preparation. The kitchen was also infested with cockroaches, posing a significant health risk to customers.

Dr. Tahira Siddique, who leads the IFA’s operations, stated that these inspections are part of a broader initiative to ensure all food establishments in Islamabad maintain high standards of cleanliness and food quality.

She emphasized that providing safe and quality food to citizens was the authority’s top priority.

The IFA was committed to continuing its rigorous checks across the city to safeguard public health and ensure that all food outlets comply with hygiene regulations, she added.
