ISLAMABAD, May 23 (DNA): Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has said incentives will be given to the salaried and the common people in the next budget.
In a statement on Sunday, he said economic indicators show that Pakistan’s economy has taken off and the opposition’s criticism on economic growth is aimed at creating political chaos and instability in the country.
Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said despite Covid pandemic and unfavourable economic situation at the international level, four percent growth of Pakistani economy shows extra ordinary performance of Prime Minister Imran Khan and his economic team. He said this economic growth will further accelerate in next two years.
He said the opposition is afraid of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s likely success in the next general elections.
He said positive economic indicators mean that Pakistan’s economy has now “taken off”. This growth rate will increase further in the next two years, Inshallah, he added.
Criticism of the opposition’s economic development meant merely creating political chaos and instability in the country, he said and added that opposition feared that Prime Minister Imran Khan would get more victories in the next election and their political drama would be stopped.
Earlier, Sheikh Rashid stressed that all the institutions, Prime Minister Imran Khan and the government are on same page.
The federal minister held a press conference in Lahore and said Imran Khan has no threat from anyone and the premier will emerge victorious from all problems.
Sheikh Rashid said opposition leaders around the world return to their countries but people here want to go abroad. Only deserters flee instead of facing the situation, he remarked.
The interior minister went on to say that Hudabiya case will be filed in two to three weeks. Adviser to the Prime Minister on Accountability Shahzad Akbar is overseeing the money laundering and sugar mills cases, he added.=DNA
