India’s Opp demands Parliamentary session

New Delhi, MAY 11: Congress party president Mallikarjun Kharge has called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to convene a special session of Parliament to discuss recent developments, including the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan.

In a letter addressed to the prime minister and shared publicly, Kharge cited growing concerns following the Pahalgam terror attack, the military’s Operation Sindoor, and the ceasefire announcements — first made from Washington, D.C., and later echoed by both the Indian and Pakistani governments.

“In view of the latest developments, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha has already written to you again, conveying the unanimous request of all Opposition parties for a special session of Parliament,” Kharge wrote. “As Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, I am writing in support of this request.”

The Congress leader emphasized the need for a detailed discussion in Parliament, urging the government to provide clarity on the situation and future course of action.
