KHARIAN: The higher authorities have ordered inquiry against the DPO Gujrat Umer Salamat after a number of public complaints and incidents of murder, robbery and lawlessness in the areas falling in the jurisdiction of the said DPO.
According to details, multiple complaints were registered with the Citizen’s Portal seeking an immediate action against the said DPO. The complaints registered with the Prime Minister’s Citizen portal said that the said official Umer Salamat was involved in helping the land grabbers; patronizing the accused involved in heinous crimes.
The complaint also contained information of Umer’s bullying of the innocent people. He used to threaten such people with dire consequences in case they reported his malpractices to the higher authorities.
Few days ago a person lost his life due to the negligence of this said officer. According to reports some hooligans launched an armed assault on the New Metro City located in Sarai-Alamgir. As a result of brawl there one person lost his life. The incident could have been avoided if the said DPO had moved in time upon getting news of the fight.
The complaint further said that the officer is incompetent and is often seen patronizing housing societies for his personal vested interests. While if the poor people reached him for justice he simply whisked them away. The people had demanded of the relevant authorities to take punitive action against the office.
