ISLAMABAD, JUL 22: The Ministry of Interior has confirmed the arrest of Ahmed Waqas Janjua, Coordinator for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
According to a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he was taken into custody by Islamabad Police.
The spokesperson stated that PTI is allegedly involved in anti-state propaganda, prompting the formation of a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to conduct a thorough investigation.
Preliminary investigations and digital evidence led to a raid by the police and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on PTI’s digital media wing. During this operation, party spokesperson Rauf Hassan was also detained.
The Ministry’s spokesperson emphasized the seriousness of the allegations against PTI, highlighting the need for a comprehensive investigation to address concerns about anti-state activities.
