Rawalpindi – November 13, 2025:- Federal Minister for Interior and Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi visited the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium late tonight. Sri Lankan High Commissioner Fred Siriweerathne and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry also accompanied him.
Mohsin Naqvi inspected the security arrangements and met the personnel deployed on duty. He appreciated the dedication of law enforcement officials and urged them to continue performing their duties with full commitment.
The Interior Minister also met the Sri Lankan cricket team players who were present for practice and personally thanked each of them for continuing their tour of Pakistan.
Mohsin Naqvi said, “Your security is our responsibility. Your continued presence in Pakistan is a victory of peace and a defeat for terrorism. The entire Pakistani nation will always remain indebted to your love and affection. This beautiful chapter of Pakistan–Sri Lanka friendship will be remembered forever.”
He also met Pakistani players and witnessed their practice session.
Sri Lankan High Commissioner Fred Siriweerathne said, “I have served in several countries, but I consider Pakistan my second home. We are fully satisfied with the security arrangements.”
Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Commissioner Rawalpindi, IG Islamabad Police, and senior officials of law enforcement agencies were also present on the occasion.
