Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visits Kartarpur with U.S. Congressional Delegation

NAROWAL, APR 14 /DNA/ – Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi along with a delegation of US Congressmen visited the Kartarpur Corridor to participate in the Baisakhi festival. The delegation included US Congressman Thomas Richard Souzzi, US Congressman Jonathan Jackson, Acting US Ambassador Natalie Baker and US Consul General Kristen K. Hawkins. Mohsin Naqvi and the US delegation were warmly welcomed by leading figures of the Sikh community outside the Darshan Deori. Interior Minister and the US Congressmen congratulated the Sikh community on the occasion of Baisakhi festival.

Mohsin Naqvi and the US Congressmen also visited the Gurdwara Sahib, viewed tge various items related to Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji. They were briefed about Gurdwara Sahib Kartarpur. They also attended the prayer ceremony at the Gurdwara Sahib and also visited the historical well. Interior Minister and the delegation of US Congressmen were presented Saropa and Kirpan. Sikh pilgrims from India met Interior Minister and the US delegation and took pictures with them.

Mohsin Naqvi and the US Congressmen specially went to the langar hall and had food with the Sikh community. The US Congressmen delegation appreciated the facilities at the Kartarpur Corridor and Gurdwara Sahib. US Congressman Tom Suozzi said that he was happy to participate in the Sikh community festival. Congressman Jonathan Jackson said that Pakistan has made excellent arrangements for Sikh pilgrims at the Kartarpur Corridor and Gurdwara Sahib. Mohsin Naqvi and the US delegation also visited Zero Point.

 Interior Minister said that providing the best facilities to Sikh pilgrims is top priority of our government. He further highlighted that visas for Sikh pilgrims has been made easier, and we want more and more Sikh pilgrims to come to Pakistan and visit their holy places. He said that Pakistanis are loving and peaceful people, and the followers of all religions are treated with respect and dignity in Pakistan.
