ISLAMABAD, Oct 25 (DNA): The Ministry of Interior on Wednesday gave its
approval for the issuance of a red warrant against Pakistan
Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Zulfi Bukhari.
The red warrant is an international notice sent to the International
Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) seeking the arrest and
extradition of an individual.
In a letter to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the interior ministry
directed the agency to contact International Criminal Police
Organisation (Interpol) France for issuance of red warrant against Zulfi
Bukhari.
The approval for the red warrant was issued in a case related to attack
on Judicial Complex Islamabad during the appearance of the PTI Chairman
before court in Toshakhana case.
The federal police claimed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers
set police vehicles on fire as law enforcers clashed with party workers
during former premier Imran Khan’s appearance in Tosha Khana case at
Islamabad’s Judicial Complex.
In a tweet, it said: “Fifty-two policemen were injured from incited
workers pelting stones at the officials of Islamabad Capital Police and
other assisting forces at the appearance of PTI Chairman Imran Khan at
the Judicial Complex.”
Islamabad police also claimed that the PTI workers and supporters
attacked the police with petrol bombs and tear gas was also fired at
police.
Zulfi Bukhari, the former SAPM to ex-prime minister Imran Khan, left the
country and has been living abroad after a case under the Anti-Terrorism
Act was registered against him at the Golra police station on March 18.
