Vast scope for investment in tourism and hotel industry in Punjab: Provincial Minister Ch Shafi Hussain

LAHORE, Feb 12 : A mutual cooperation agreement has been signed between the Department of Industries and Commerce and the International Radisson Hotel Group. The agreement will bring new investment in the hospitality and hotel industry in Punjab.
Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce Chaudhry Shafi Hussain and CEO of Radisson Resort Aleem Malik signed the memorandum of understanding. International Radisson Group will invest in the hospitality and hotel industry in Punjab. Pakistan Muslim League-Q Sindh President Muhammad Tariq, Central Secretary Information Ghulam Mustafa Malik, Director Punjab Investment Board Zamaran Hashmi, Malik Kamran Munir and Sharqi Tipu also attended the ceremony.
The agreement will work together to bring foreign investment in the tourism, hospitality, and hotel industries. Training, internships, and joint research initiatives will be taken to increase employment opportunities in the tourism, hospitality, and hotel industries. Technical assistance will be provided to promote foreign investment. A joint committee comprising representatives of the Department of Commerce and Industry and the Radisson Group will be formed to promote mutual cooperation.
Provincial Minister for Commerce and Industry Chaudhry Shafie Hussain said that there is vast scope for investment in tourism and hotel industry in Punjab. The agreement on cooperation for investment promotion between the Department of Commerce and Industry and the International Radisson Group is welcome.
He said that Punjab has an excellent environment and opportunities for domestic and foreign investment. Due to the favorable environment and the best time for investment in Punjab, domestic and foreign investors are turning to Punjab.
Provincial Minister Chaudhry Shafi Hussain said that it is my mission to bring new investment to Punjab. Every necessary step is being taken to promote industry and investment. We welcome the Radisson Group’s investment in the hospitality and hotel industry in Punjab.
He said that new investment will be brought into the hotel industry in collaboration with the Department of Commerce and Industry and the International Radisson Group. The agreement ceremony held in the committee room of the Punjab Board of Investment was attended by directors and other officials of the Radisson Group.
