TEHRAN, FEB 1: Iran has responded to the European Union’s decision to designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organisation.
Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has considered the armed forces of European countries as terrorist entities. He said that by targeting the Revolutionary Guards, Europe had harmed its own interests.
Qalibaf said the Revolutionary Guards remained the biggest obstacle to terrorism. He added that the European Union had taken an extreme step at the behest of the United States and Israel.
It may be recalled that the European Union designated the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organisation on 29 January.
