ISLAMABAD, NOV 26: Iranian Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Ardeshir Larijani said on Wednesday that joint efforts were under way to resolve disputes between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
In a briefing in Islamabad, Larijani affirmed Iran’s clear position on the Palestine issue and assured cooperation against terrorism in the region. He told the media that he felt pleased to visit Pakistan and said disputes between Pakistan and Afghanistan would be resolved through every possible means. He added that Pakistan was a friendly and brotherly country for Iran and expressed hope that both states would find swift solutions to the challenges they faced.
Larijani said Iran proposed a clear formula for the resolution of the Palestine issue and that the Palestinian people must hold elections to choose their own government. He expressed confidence that Pakistan always remained a friend of Iran and played a positive role on various occasions.
He said Iran knew that terrorist groups operated in the region and that Iran would cooperate with Pakistan to counter them. He said Iran already completed work on the gas pipeline up to its border.
