GAZA, SEP 19 (DNA): One year ago, the United Nations General Assembly adopted resolution ES-10/24 based on the ICJ advisory opinion on Israel’s unlawful presence and demanded that Israel brings to an end, without delay, its unlawful occupation of Palestine by 18 September 2025.
Instead, and in defiance of the UN Charter, the ICJ, international law, the General Assembly resolution, and the international and global determination, Israel is further entrenching its unlawful occupation and presence in Palestine through genocide, apartheid, and ethnic cleansing, further violating the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and independence.
The State of Palestine calls on States to comply with their obligations and ensure that any impediment to the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination resulting from Israel’s criminality is brought to an end. States are obliged to impose irreversible measures on Israel, including measures adopted in resolution, such as not to render aid or assistance including abstaining from entering into economic and trade agreements that further entrench Israel’s unlawful presence, to cease the importation or provision or transfer of arms and to implement sanctions against Israeli officials.
The State of Palestine calls on States, that have not done so, to join the rest of the international community, support the political rights of the Palestinian people and recognize the State of Palestine.
Israel’s impunity must come to an end. There is no room in a civilized world for Israel’s criminality and its violation of its human dignity and morality. Israel and its officials must be held accountable for perpetuating the most protracted crime of the century: 77 years of displacement, dispossession, and erasure of Palestine and its people.
