ITP finalizes Eid traffic plan

ISLAMABAD, 26 MAY (DNA) — Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) reviewed traffic arrangements for Eid-ul-Adha during a meeting chaired by Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Muhammad Sarfraz Virk to ensure smooth and safe traffic flow across the federal capital during the holidays.

An ITP official told media on Tuesday that SP Traffic and all zonal officers attended the review meeting. During the meeting, the CTO Virk reviewed traffic arrangements made for mosques, parks, public places, markets and cattle markets across Islamabad.

Safe City surveillance cameras would also be utilized to further strengthen traffic monitoring and management in different parts of the city during Eid holidays. Virk directed all zonal officers to remain present in the field throughout Eid holidays and personally supervise traffic arrangements in their respective areas.

He emphasized that effective traffic management at all duty points must be ensured to facilitate safe travel for citizens during Eid days. The CTO Virk said one-wheeling, reckless driving, hooliganism, and dangerous road behaviour would not be tolerated under any circumstances, and strict action would be taken against violators.

According to the official, Islamabad Traffic Police would remain fully active during Eid-ul-Adha to facilitate commuters and maintain the smooth flow of traffic throughout the capital.— DNA
