ATTOCK: President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Tehsil Pindi Gheb, Malik Zeeshan Dehra, while expressing his views on Kashmir Solidarity Day, stated that United Nations Security Council Resolution 47, passed on April 21, 1948, declared the United Nations as the guarantor of peace and affirmed the Kashmiri people’s fundamental right to self-determination.

He said the resolution clearly acknowledged that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have the right to decide their own future through a free and fair plebiscite. However, despite the passage of decades, this promise remains unfulfilled.

Malik Zeeshan Dehra further referred to the testimony of Professor William Baker during the 52nd Session of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights, who described rape in Indian-occupied Kashmir as a “systematic tool” used by Indian security forces to humiliate, terrorize, and suppress the local population.

He emphasized that the brutal and inhumane actions of the Indian government must be addressed through the implementation of the United Nations’ commitment to grant the Kashmiri people their right to self-determination. He added that justice, freedom, and human dignity must prevail over oppression and exploitation so that oppressed communities can prosper.

He concluded by reaffirming that the people of Pakistan will continue to stand firmly with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters, extending moral, political, and diplomatic support until they achieve their legitimate rights.
