ISLAMABAD: Yerzhan Kistafin, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan, visited COMSTECH Secretariat on Thursday to discuss joint initiatives for science and technology, capacity building and higher education linkage.
Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary, Coordinator General, COMSTECH extended him very warm welcome. Both the dignitaries discussed the establishment of linkages between universities, reactivate OIC15 programme, and to launch proceedings of Al-Farabi Forum organized by COMSTECH last year on the occasion of 1150th anniversary of Al-Farabi — renowned Muslim philosopher.
They discussed to establish the Al-Farabi chair in the universities of Pakistan and Iqbal chair in the universities of Kazakhstan. The Ambassador agreed to the suggestion of holding Iqbal Forum in Kazakhstan next year.
