PESHAWAR, Jan 12 (DNA):In a historic move, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise Department has decided to introduce specialized and unique vehicle number plates for the first time in the province’s history.
According to the department, these exclusive number plates will be auctioned on January 27 in Peshawar and will include plates named after tribes and prominent personalities.
Officials stated that the number plates to be auctioned include Wazir One, Mehsud One, Khattak One, and Mohmand One, along with Khan, Gandapur, Durrani, Kundi, Swati, Arbab, Khalil, Afridi, and Yousafzai One.
In addition, special number plates bearing the names of Malakand, Abbottabad, Kohat, and Bannu will also be offered, making them unique and historic items for bidders.
The Excise Department has set a base price of Rs 1 million for participation in the auction, while each bidder will be required to deposit Rs 100,000 as a security amount.
The department clarified that failure to pay the full bid amount within the stipulated time will result in forfeiture of the security deposit.
Excise officials said the initiative aims not only to provide unique and exclusive number plates in the province but also to promote transparency, modernization, and the introduction of advanced systems within public services.
