Laziness is caused by a lot of things, like lack of sleep, high workloads, stress, etc.
Procrastination is a very common trait in teenagers, as most teens adopt a strategy in which they avoid putting in effort and then blame a bad result as their reason for not trying, which, in short, is ‘don’t try, don’t fail’. Being lazy doesn’t always mean a person is just procrastinating; it’s also a sign of depression. A person who’s dealing with depression loses their will to do anything, even if it’s the things they loved doing, as they have no motivation to do it anymore, which to others might seem like laziness.
Laziness is also considered a sin in many religions; in Christian theology, laziness is known as the sin of sloth, one of the seven deadly sins. Laziness can lead to hardships like financial hardship; for example, you get too lazy to cook daily meals, so you start eating out or ordering, which obviously is costly. Failing to build a strong work ethic can limit your career growth, lowering your earning potential.
There are many ways you can stop being lazy. For example, if you have a task to complete, you can use the 5-minute rule: work on a part of it for 5 minutes, start with the hardest part, take short breaks in between, and slowly build momentum. Remove distractions, like putting your phone or laptop away in another room, as people tend to start using their devices, and then they get distracted
