ISLAMABAD, APR 30 (DNA) — Giving his reaction to the fresh audio leak purportedly featuring his son demanding ‘reward for securing PTI ticket for an aspirant’, former chief justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar on Sunday refused to take the matter to the court, saying that he was not the target, but an attempt was being made to bring the judiciary under pressure by targeting him.
Talking about his son Najam Saqib’s purported audio clip in which he was demanding Rs12 million in return for securing a PTI ticket for a politician, the former chief justice said that the facts in the clip featuring his son have been doctored.
Rubbishing the idea of moving to court against the leak, Saqib said, “I’m not so mad to take the matter to the court.” He was of the view that he was not the real target ‘rather attempts are being made to bring the judiciary under pressure’.
The former chief justice said, “I am a controversial man and so many people are not happy with me because I have unmasked them.” He said he was not in contact with Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial, adding that even on Eid, he did not talk with the Supreme Court judges. — DNA
