LHC issues written judgement in case against detention orders

LAHORE, SEP 28 (DNA) : Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued the written verdict of an application against the constitutional status of the detention orders under MPO Ordinance Section 3.

LHC Justice Amjad Rafiq issued the written judgment of the previous hearing of the case.

It was mentioned in the judgment that the applicant’s lawyer had requested for suspension of MPO Ordinance Section 3 while the Punjab government’s lawyer had requested a deadline to present arguments.

The government lawyer was required to assist the court on this section.

The court adjourned the case hearing until October 1.

It is pertinent to note that the pleader in his application against MPO ordinance contented that detention orders were being used for political gains.
