Maintaining Iran-Israel ceasefire crucial for lasting peace: Senator Sherry

ISLAMABAD, Jun 25 (APP/DNA):Former Ambassador to the United States & PPP Senator Sherry Rehman Wednesday said that Pakistan desires peace in the region and supports the ceasefire between Iran and Israel but warns of grave repercussions if the terms are

violated.

Talking to a private news channel, She emphasized the critical importance of upholding the ceasefire between Iran and Israel to ensure lasting peace and stability in the region.

She highlighted that fostering balanced and mutually respectful relations with all neighboring countries is a top priority for Pakistan, as achieving regional peace and stability.

Responding to a query, she said that any Israeli violation could lead to severe regional turmoil, urging Israel to show responsibility and reconsider its approach.

She further stated that Pakistan has consistently demonstrated a mature and responsible approach in addressing regional challenges.

Pakistan’s foreign policy reflects a deep understanding of the complexities in the region and it remains steadfast in supporting peaceful resolutions that benefit all nations involved, she mentioned.

Through active engagement and constructive diplomacy, Pakistan seeks to contribute positively to a stable and harmonious regional environment, she added.

She also praised Donald Trump for publicly warning Israel, noting that it was the first time such a direct warning had been issued.

She said that Iran is a brotherly Islamic country, and Pakistan stands in support of deepening mutual ties and cooperation.

She added that Pakistan aims to foster better relationships with its neighbors, including China, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Qatar, and other countries in the region.
