RAWALPINDI, JUL 9: A man shot and killed his teenage daughter in the Dhok Chaudhryan Takht Padi area of Rawalpindi after she refused to delete her TikTok account, in a horrifying case of so-called “honour killing”.
The victim, identified as Mehak Shahzadi, was a matriculation student.
According to police, the incident occurred after the suspect, Akhlaq Ahmed, repeatedly asked his daughter to remove her TikTok profile, but she did not comply. In a fit of rage, he allegedly opened fire on her, killing her on the spot. After the crime, Akhlaq fled the scene.
A murder case was registered against the suspect at Rawat Police Station on the complaint of Head Constable Shahbaz Anjum. Following the brutal killing, Rawalpindi police formed three special teams to trace and arrest the accused.
Later on Wednesday, police confirmed that Akhlaq Ahmed had been arrested, and the murder weapon was recovered from his possession. He is being transferred to Rawat Police Station for further investigation.
