Measures underway to control dengue: FDA

FAISALABAD, Jun 24 (APP/DNA):In line with the special instructions of the Punjab government, measures are being taken 

to combat dengue in the district.
In this regard, special focus is being given on surveillance under the guidance of the health
department, however, social cooperation is very important to control dengue.
This was said by Additional Director General Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Qaiser Abbas
Rind while addressing an anti-dengue awareness seminar organized by the health department
at the FDA complex on Tuesday, in which administrators of private housing societies were specially
invited.
The experts of the health department informed the participants about methods of detection of dengue larvae/mosquitoes, prevention of its breeding as well as preventive and protective measures.
The additional director general FDA said anti-dengue surveillance was being carried out regularly
in the FDA complex and other sub-offices, and an awareness campaign is also being implemented.
He directed that banners/flaxes based on precautionary measures should be installed at prominent
places to make residents of housing societies aware and special steps should be taken to
eliminate possible sources of dengue larvae.
