Islamabad: Apr 17 (DNA):Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held a meeting with British Minister for Faith, Communities and Resettlement Lord Wajid Khan. Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, British High Commissioner Jane Marriott, and Interior Secretary Muhammad Khurram Agha were also present on occasion.
During the meeting discussions were held on Pakistan-UK relations, including enhancing cooperation in counter-terrorism, security, and preventing cross-border crimes. Speaking on the occasion, Mohsin Naqvi emphasized Pakistan’s desire to further strengthen bilateral cooperation with the UK in all areas of mutual interest. Lord Wajid Khan condemned the attack on the Jaffar Express and expressed condolences to the families of the martyrs.
He acknowledged Pakistan’s immense sacrifices in the war against terrorism. The Interior Minister said that the sacrifices of Pakistan’s security forces serve as an example for the entire world. He added that Pakistan is the only country where every segment of society has made unparalleled sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
He stressed that the international community must support Pakistan in this regard without any delay and that the role of the UK is of crucial importance. Lord Wajid Khan expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Interior for facilitating the relocation of Afghan refugees to the UK.
Interior Minister stated that the repatriation of illegal foreign nationals is proceeding smoothly, with such individuals being returned to their home countries with dignity. He emphasized that no action is being taken against foreign nationals possessing valid documents. Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry added that every possible facility is being provided to illegal foreign nationals during the repatriation process.
